Centrally located approximately 7 miles from Downtown San Diego and the same distance from the Mexico International border. In June 2017, Chula Vista and the Port of San Diego approve agreement to develop resort hotel and convention center on the bayfront. Development plans include a 1,450 room hotel with 275,000 SF of convention and meeting space, resort-style amenities and retail space on the Chula Vista bayfront.
